Green Pact Valencia
More than 100 companies have adhered to the "Green Pact Valencia," a firm commitment to sustainable development in the city. This pact arises as part of the Declaration of Collaboration with the European Green Capital Valencia 2024 and obliges participating companies to demonstrate their commitment to the principles of sustainable tourism.
The companies commit to supporting the dissemination of Valencia's designation as European Green Capital 2024 among clients and employees, reinforcing staff training in sustainability, and promoting the axes of biodiversity, green infrastructures, climate mission, sustainable mobility, and healthy food. Furthermore, they must implement concrete actions, measure progress, and participate in events of the capital program.
Additionally, the adhered companies must comply with rigorous environmental practices. This includes using efficient equipment, preventive maintenance plans, control of energy and water consumption, and emission reduction targets. It also promotes waste segregation, reduction of single-use plastics, and staff training to encourage these practices.
With this commitment from the companies involved in the city's tourism development, Valencia not only strengthens its commitment to the environment but also positions itself as a model to follow in urban and tourism sustainability, contributing to the success of the European Green Capital 2024.
